LONDON, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- England suffered their second defeatin a row after losing to the United States 1-0 in a women'sfootball international friendly at Stadium Milton Keynes onFriday.
Alex Morgan rose highest to head home a cross from LaurenHoliday in the 25th minute. It was her 50th goal for her country. 'England had a goal disallowed in the 56th minute when Jodie Taylorwas ruled offside. Video footage showed that the goal should havebeen allowed.
England manager Mark Sampson was angry with the decision.
"It's just a wrong decision," he said after the match."Physically we weren't in a position to compete and we knew we hadto be a bit clever. Tonight we have learned we can be a threat onthe counter attack, which is a huge positive for us becausenormally we dominate possession."
England were drawn with France, Mexico and Colombia in Group Fat the Canada World Cup this summer. They will open their World Cupcampaign against France on 9 June.
It was their second defeat in a row following their loss toworld No. 1 Germany 3-0 at Wembley last November.
