PARIS, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius condemned Saturday afternoon "in the firmest terms" the shooting attack that targeted a meeting in Copenhagen attended by Ambassador of France to Denmark Francois Zimeray.
According to information of French media, dozens of shots were fired Saturday afternoon in Copenhagen against a building which hosted a debate on Islam and freedom of expression.
One unidentified man was reportedly killed, while three policemen were injured.
French President Francois Hollande said Saturday that the French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve will visit "as soon as possible Copenhagen".
According to the statement of Hollande's office, the French president confirmed France's ambassador to Denmark was not hurt during the shooting.
"The President of the Republic expressed to the Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, France's full solidarity," added Elysee's press release.
