3 killed in east England road accident

  LONDON, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed in a roadaccident in Bedfordshire, east England Saturday morning, and a manwas arrested by police, local media reported.

  A double-decker coach collided with an Audi car near Flitwick.The Audi car was carrying four people when the accident occurred.Three of them were dead, and the other one has been sent to a localhospital for treatment.

  "Three men in the car were pronounced dead at the scene and afourth man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, withserious injuries," a spokesperson for Bedfordshire Police said.

  "No one in the coach, which was traveling from Kent, was hurt,"the spokesperson said.

  Local media said the coach driver was arrested in connectionwith the incident and taken to Luton Police Station forinvestigation.

  The accident occurred just one hour before another fatal crashin Oxfordshire on Saturday morning, which involved about 40vehicles.

  At least one man has died, and six people were seriouslyinjured, while more than 50 people have minor injuries in theaccident, according to reports. Enditem
