ALMATY, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan plans to produce 86 million tons of oil in 2017, Deputy Energy Minister Uzakbay Karabalin said on Wednesday in the capital of Astana.

Karabalin said that despite a decline in oil production in the country, it plans to increase oil production volume in the following years.

In 2020, the volume will reach 104 million tons, he said, saying the growth will be secured due to the expansion of production at the Tengiz oilfield and resumption of oil production at the Kashagan oilfield.

In 2014, oil and condensate production in the country reached 80.8 million tons and exports increased to 62.4 million tons, said Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik.
