BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Guangshang defeated Liaoning 99-92 to extend their winning streak to 14 matches in the 21st round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.
Although five players from Liaoning scored double-digits, the visiting Guangsha won the game and maintained the top spot of the standings.
Liaoning player Guo Ailun, who was hit by the bottle in the face and suffered a gashing cut below his left eye in the 19th round, came back on court just five days later. But Guo's fifteen points were not enough to help the team.
Guangsha player Lin Zhijie scored a match-high 22 points, Eli Holman had 20 points, Jeremy Pargo contributed 12 points and Su Ruoyu added 12 points as well.
Although Guangdong managed to tie Sichuan 106-106 in four periods, Sichuan managed to defeat Guangdong 17-15 in overtime and climbed to top three.
Sichuan started the game with a 7-0 run, and Guangdong struggled to catch up with Sichuan during the whole match.
Five players of Sichuan scored double-digits, and Mike Harris scored a match-high 48 points for the visiting team.
Yi Jianlian finished with 41 points and 11 rebounds, Will Bynum had 38 points and 7 rebounds for Guangdong.
In Wednesday's other matches, Shanxi edged Bayi 89-87, Fujian beat Foshan111-100, Jilin was defeated by visiting Zhejiang 110-100; Tianjin beat Jiangsu 116-114, Qingdao beat Shanghai 109-101, Beijing thrashed Tongxi 105-77, Xinjiang beat Aolong 109-94.
Shandong beat Shenzhen 108-94 on Thuesday.
